Mobile waiter robots, and cartesian and anthropomorphic robotics

Eros Contò, CEO of Eureka System recounts the positive experience in the 2020 edition of A&T – Automation & Testing and enthusiastically welcomes its new digital edition.

From 10 to 12 February 2021, Eureka System will present its new products, including Look To Aid and AgiLAB, the innovative robocentric island that reproduces the production process of a Smart Factory to scale: from raw materials to delivery and use of the finished product.

What are the reasons that led you to invest as exhibitors in this new digital proposal from A&T?

We observed A&T during the previous edition of 2020 and we evaluated it positively, particularly in terms of communication – both before and after the event. Since we believe that this has now become one of the fundamental elements for building an effective digital exhibition event in this pandemic period, we have chosen to invest in the experience that will be A&T 2021.

What will be the main technological innovations that you will present at A&T 2021?

On this next trade fair occasion, we will present AgiLAB to the public; AgiLAB is the laboratory which makes our digital skills and our intellectual assets perceptible. It is an innovative robocentric island capable of emulating a production process on a scale, complete with its own warehouses (raw materials, semi-finished products, finished products), handling operations with Cartesian and anthropomorphic robots, and delivery of the finished product thanks to the autonomous driving managed in the fleet.
The AgiLAB product? A cup of tea available in various flavours. Using a tablet, the user can place their order, choosing the flavour and typing the characters that the CAM-Robot will write on the personalized coaster, to then be served by a Robot waiter directly at the table; all this, while the production management system tracks, controls, governs, and monitors all operations.

What message do you feel you send to the corporate world to face the new year with confidence?

Even if the current pandemic is causing significant uncertainty regarding the future market trend, it is still necessary not to stand still and wait, but to have the conscientious courage to implement strategic and forward-looking research and development projects. For us, AgiLAB is not only a concentrate of innovative technologies: it is at the same time a concrete expression of our skills and a tangible symbol of our will to get involved, to deepen and experiment.
